EURO 2024
Who plays today in Euro 2024? June 24: games, times, TV, schedule
With Group A resolved, Group B takes the focus on Monday, with teams vying for position to progress into the round of 16.
Sunday saw the first group complete its round of fixtures leaving Germany and Switzerland as the teams to progress in the top two places of Group A. Hungary’s late, late win over Scotland means that they will now have to wait on other results to see if they are one of the four best third-placed teams. So to Monday, and it’s the turn of Group B.
Euro 2024: what games are on Sunday 24 June?
With Saturday being the end of the three-game-slot days of the tournament, today sees both Group B matches kick off at 9 p.m. local time in Germany. That is 3 p.m. ET and 12 noon PT. The games – Albania vs Spain and Croatia vs Italy – are played simultaneously to avoid giving any team an unfair advantage. Here’s how it looks.
Spain have already advanced to the round of 16 as group winners. They will face one of the top third-placed teams from Groups A, D, E, or F.
Italy will secure second place in the group if they avoid losing to Croatia. However, if they lose to Croatia and Albania defeats Spain, Italy cannot automatically progress and will depend on other results and tiebreakers to advance.
Albania will qualify as the second-placed team if they beat Spain and Croatia defeats Italy. In case of a points tie, tiebreakers will come into play. If Albania either loses or draws against Spain and Croatia wins, Albania cannot advance to the Round of 16.
Croatia will advance as the second-placed team if they beat Italy and Albania does not win against Spain. If Albania wins as well, tiebreakers will decide the second and third places. Croatia will not progress if they draw or lose, and Albania secures at least a point against Spain.
