WORLD CUP 2022
Why is Canada eliminated from the World Cup even if they win the last game?
After their second loss against Croatia, things are getting a bit complicated in Group F, but not for Canada, who lost their chances for the knockout stage.
Canada is eliminated from knockout stage contention after their flops to Belgium and Croatia. Les Rouges gave the spectators an excellent show so they could go home with their heads up.
Canada have put up a great show against the group’s best teams, despite their significant loss against Croatia. Now, they look ahead to the game against Morocco on Thursday as their last chance for recognition and gratitude to all their fans in Qatar and back home.
The inevitable outcome
It is mathematically impossible for Canada to advance to the round of 16 at the 2022 FIFA World Cup after conceiving a second loss in less than five days. The Maple Leaf national team that had ranked first in North America during World Cup qualifying was eliminated on Sunday after losing 4-1 to 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia.

Canada, for the record, at least scored at a FIFA Men’s World Cup for the first time in their history when Alphonso Davies reacted phenomenally in the box after just 67 seconds of gameplay.
Hypothetically, Canada would require one team to dominate the group and steal all the possible points to advance from the group stage with just three points. That’s already impossible, knowing that neither of their group opponents has a clean sheet.
