Update:

Real Madrid will host Getafe on Monday night in LaLiga match day 26 yet will do so without their main midfielder, Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham is currently out with a hamstring injury that, while on the mend now, had developed into something of a worry for the club, causing uncertainty regarding a return date for the player.

However, progress now appears to be on track and a late March/early April return date is pencilled in for the Stourbridge-born midfielder. He is not expected to be back fit for Real Madrid’s tough Champions League test against Manchester City.

This season in LaLiga, Bellingham has played 18 times out of a possible 25, missing the first four games of the season due to a shoulder injury before being ruled out for the last four games with the aforementioned muscle issue.

He has scored 4 goals and has 3 assists so far in the domestic league campaign. He has played 7 times in the Champions League, scoring 2 and getting a single assist.

Kylian Mbappé is without a doubt Real Madrid’s main absence for the game against Getafe. The French forward is suffering from a persistent knee injury and will be out for a number of weeks as he balances his playing time against a full recovery ahead of the World Cup in the summer.

Questions have been raised about Real Madrid’s capacity to perform without Mbappé, a player who has scored a large percentage of their goals this season. Against Getafe, that resolve will be tested once again.

Real Madrid are also without Éder Militão who is recovering from a long-term muscle injury and is also said to be making progress ahead of a potential April return.
