Why is Jude Bellingham not playing today for Real Madrid against Mallorca in LaLiga?
Xabi Alonso has named his starting XI for the LaLiga game against the islanders.
Real Madrid take on RCD Mallorca at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu as they look to maintain their unbeaten record, as well as their perfect double of clean sheets.
Three points against Osasuna came on the opening day, before a solid win over Real Oviedo, where the first green shoots of the new era in the Spanish capital could perhaps be seen.

However, against Mallorca, Real Madrid will be without Jude Bellingham. Here’s why:
Over the summer the Englishman underwent surgery on his right shoulder, finally addressing an injury issue that has hampered him for more than 18 months. As well as Bellingham, Madrid boss Xabi Alonso is also missing Antonio Rudiger and Rodrygo Goes.
Eagle-eyed fans will have noticed that Bellingham often plays with strapping on his shoulder, which was first injured in late 2023. The surgery was a success but he will need around 10-12 weeks to return to full fitness and Madrid will be anxious to avoid rushing the star back.
In addition to Real Madrid’s game, Bellingham is also expected to miss the entirety of England’s fixtures across the September and October international breaks.
