Will Chicharito be named president of the Kings League in Mexico?
Former Barcelona player Gerard Piqué indicated that they will soon release details about the Latin American League that will be based in Mexico.
Gerard Piqué's Kings League has been a worldwide phenomenon with surprise, hidden players as well as other special features that sets it apart from the traditional game.
Until now, the Kings League has been based exclusively in Spain, however, it was recently announced that there will be a Latin American league based in Mexico and there is a possibility that Chicharito Hernández will be involved in the project, either as a player or as a manager. For now, it is an open secret as Piqué hasn’t want to reveal too many details just yet.
“It’s something we announced recently, which makes us very excited, we’re going to move things forward as they happen, the idea is to hold a presentation event in mid-October in Mexico, where we’ll announce the 12 club presidents of Mexico plus the president of the League. Then at the end of November, start of December, the draft will come, just like we saw in Spain. Then, the first week of January (2024) the competition starts,” the former Barcelona and Spain player explained to Fox Sports.
When asked specifically about Chicharito, he replied, “We’ll see, I can’t say anything, but we’ll be making an announcement tomorrow,” he said.
What we do know is that there will be an event in Mexico where further details about the project are due to be announced. The 12 teams that will form the league, their presidents and coaches were not discussed. There is a strong possibility that Chicharito could be handed some kind of role - possibly as the president of the Latin America Kings League.
