Update:

Games in the Liga MX, Liga Expansion and Liga Femenil - among several other events - have been postponed amid the wave of violence affecting various regions of the country. The Mexican national team, however, has not followed suit.

Mexico vs Iceland set to go ahead

According to TUDN’s Mauricio Ymay, there is currently no intention not to go ahead with Wednesday’s international friendly. It’s worth noting that the match is scheduled to be played in Querétaro, where today’s Gallos vs FC Juárez match was postponed.

Furthermore, AS México has learned that the Icelandic Soccer Federation has also arrived in Querétaro ahead of Wednesday’s friendly, adding yet another reason for the match to proceed as planned.

The Mexican national team’s training camp officially kicked off Sunday night, with several players already reporting; the rest of the squad is expected to join in full by Monday.

Although the most serious incidents of violence occurred in Jalisco, the Querétaro vs FC Juárez match was also added to the list of rescheduled sporting events. The Liga MX statement did not provide a specific reason for the decision, but the state of Querétaro has likewise experienced disruptions, including road blockades, suspension of activities in commercial and entertainment centers, and the cancellation of classes across all educational levels.

The Querétaro government characterized these actions as preventive measures, stressing that the situation remained “calm”- Even so, questions arose regarding the status of El Tri’s third tune‑up match of the year as the team builds toward next June’s World Cup, for which Jalisco will be one of the host venues.

Mexico vs Iceland: when, where, how to watch?
