Will Erling Haaland play for Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend?
On Friday, City boss Guardiola spoke about Haaland ahead of the clash against Palace.
Manchester City return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Due to injury, City striker Erling Haaland has missed the club’s last two games, the Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade in midweek (3-2) and the Premier League victory (2-1) against Luton Town last weekend.
Guardiola provides Haaland update
Speaking at his press conference on Friday, City boss Pep Guardiola said he does not expect Haaland to play against Palace as he continues to struggle with a foot injury.
Guardiola admitted that the 23-year-old has been receiving treatment for the issue.
“He’s been having treatment away,” said Guardiola. “He arrived today and we’ll see; the doctors will see him.
“Hopefully he can travel to Saudi after the game and after we’ll see if he’s able to play the first game or second.”
Unlikely to feature against Palace
When asked if Haaland would play against Palace, the Catalan coach continued: “I don’t think so.”
It was then put to Guardiola if he was worried about the Norwegian’s injury. “No, it’s not structure, it’s just stress. Day by day, week by week, we have to see how he feels,” he added.
