Will Leeds midfielder Tyler Adams play again this season?
The US international has been out of action with a hamstring problem.
Tyler Adams underwent surgery on a hamstring injury in March and Leeds United boss Javi Gracia has admitted that he is unsure whether the US international will feature again between now and the end of the current campaign.
“If I tell you something (an injury update), I lie to you. I don’t know,” said Gracia ahead of Leeds’ crucial Premier League fixture with Fulham this weekend.
“He’s working hard, the medical staff are working very well as well but we need time to know if he will be ready or not.”
Former RB Leipzig player
Leeds signed the central midfielder from RB Leipzig and he has started in 24 Premier League games for the Yorkshire club.
Former Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick brought Adams to the Bundesliga in 2019 when he was the interim manager at Red Bull Leipzig. Adams helped the Bundesliga side reach the Champions League semi-final in 2020.
“He’s a player that plays in a position where we don’t have many other options,” Gracia added.
“Now in the first team squad, we have Adam Forshaw who now is ready and was injured long term. But he’s absent in an important position
“We have young players who play there as well, very good players, but this is an absence important for the team. All of you know that now we don’t have the solution for that.
“We have to work with the players we have and believe as I do that they are very good players and the best ones to play this final (stage) of the season.”
At the age of 24, Adams has played 36 times for the USMNT.
