Will Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric continue to play for Croatia?

Luka Modric made his first start of the 2023/24 season against Getafe in Saturday’s 2-1 win at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The 37-year-old has decided to remain with Los Blancos for another season, and once again displayed his class with his showing against José Bordalás’ side.
The international break is upon us and Croatia national team head coach Zlatko Dalic spoke to the media ahead of a return to action this month. The 56-year-old confirmed that Modric will play with his country into 2024.

“Luka Modric continues with us until Euro 2024,” said Dalic. His desire was unquestionable.”
He added: “We talked after the Nations League, he decided on his own to continue. I hope [he’ll stay] even further, but we’ll see. Thank you Luka for this decision.”
On Modric’s role at Real Madrid
“He played the last game from the start. They have a lot of players and games, the squad is as big as Manchester City’s,” Dalic continued.
“Luka will get minutes [at Madrid]. His work will earn him his place and he will be the main player for Real again.”
