Real Madrid, in recent years, have been very clear about their transfer policy: Florentino Pérez does not want to risk spending too much, with names such as Jovic and Hazard still whispered in the corridors of the Santiago Bernabéu.

The Spanish side, therefore, have switched their focus to picking up young talents before their price skyrockets as well as players in the last year of their contracts to sign at an affordable and more reasonable price. A good example is Alphonso Davies, who has a year left on his contract: Madrid will not pay crazy prices and if Bayern continue to ask for €50 million, they will wait a year and try to sign him next year for free.

Are Real Madrid signing Trent Alexander-Arnold?

On the other side of the defensive line, right-back is one of the positions set to be bulked up, given the age of both Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez. There is no rush for this season, next season will no doubt be a different story.

Tracking the market, one of the most valuable full-backs, Trent Alexander-Arnold, finishes his contract next year with Liverpool and Real Madrid are working on his signing, according to English media outlet The Independent. By the summer of 2025, Real Madrid could get both Davies and Arnold without having to pay a single euro in transfer fees.

One of the unexpected ‘agents’ in this operation is Bellingham. According to the aforementioned English outlet, the Real Madrid midfielder is trying to convince the defender: he has spoken well of Madrid, which could convince the defender to join him next season. Bellingham knows the quality of his compatriot and would be delighted to have him as a teammate at the Bernabéu. Completing a potential deal would not be easy, as Liverpool will try to keep him at all costs, losing one of their pillars for free would not be a good look.

The right-back will turn 26 in October and has already played 329 games for Liverpool, scoring 23 goals and providing 85 assists. He has been criticised in his country for his lack of defensive strength, but he is one of the best in the league when it comes to attacking output.
