With Chicharito out, Martino opens up on his Mexico strike force
Santiago Giménez or Henry Martin are being lined up to aid El Tri’s attacking options for Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Gerardo Martino has a dilemma regarding his final Mexico list, the strikers he will take to the 2022 World Cup. ‘Tata’ made it clear that he will not take four strikers and will dispense with one of Raúl Jiménez, Santiago Giménez, Henry Martin or Rogelio Funes Mori.

He went further.
“We have to define the situation between four footballers because it is clear that four are not going to go”, mentioned the Argentine. Final FIFA break for Mexico prep
Being the last FIFA break of the year, Martino reiterated that the current squad for Mexico is very similar to what he will take to Qatar at the end of November.
“This being the last call-up before the final list for the World Cup, there is a large base of players here who will be in Qatar, but that doesn’t take away the possibility of a player who isn’t right now,” admitted the coach.
Finally, for the friendly matches against Colombia and Peru, Henry and Santiago Giménez would be the starters since both Jiménez and the Rayados striker have injury problems.
