Women’s Euro 2022 ticket sales smash records

More than 500,000 match tickets have been sold so far for the tournament which starts on 6 July, more than double that of the the 2017 competition.

The Women’s Euro 2022 in England has already written a chapter in the history of the game with a ball yet to be kicked. Over 500,000 match tickets have already been sold which represents double the number of the spectators compared to the last competition staged in the Netherlands in 2017 with that tournament representing the previously highest attended to date.

The half a million tickets already sold have been purchased from 99 countries, with 20 % of ticket purchases coming from outside of host nation England. This includes the other 15 participating national associations and also ticket orders, for example, from North America, China, and Australia, reflecting the global appeal of the competition.

Strong local interest

The strongest demand so far has come from England, followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and France with 700,000 tickets available for the tournament in all.

Some 43% of all purchases have come from female fans, while 21% of ticket orders have been made for children under the age of 16.

There are still another 200,000 seats available for the Euros that take place between 6-31 July with games set to be staged at: Wembley Stadium, Brighton & Hove Community Stadium, Brentford Community Stadium, Manchester City Academy Stadium, Stadium MK in Milton Keynes, New York Stadium in Rotherham, Bramall Lane in Sheffield, St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton, Old Trafford and Leigh Sports Village.
