Given the high level shown by the young players in Gregg Berhalter’s squad, the United States National Team has attracted the attention of top teams across Europe. Such is the case of Yunus Musah, who is having a season full of promise with Genaro Gattuso’s Valencia and some of the most important clubs in Serie A have picked up on his performances.

Given the fact that the USMNT midfielder is set to feature in his first World Cup, his stock has not been higher. Coupled with his brilliant form in Spain, it is natural that his aspirations are set higher than Valencia CF, who are currently trying to get out of a lower ebb in their proud history (they currently sit 10th in La Liga).

According to information from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport and the Relevo in Spain, Musah is being closely followed by clubs such as Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus. The Spanish outlet indicates that Valencia have already said no to the possibility of seeing the American leave in the January transfer window. They could perhaps be open to him leaving in the summer of 2023, but negotiations would not be made easy by the club.

It it worth remembering that in the New Yorker has a contract until the summer of 2026 with Los Che, and a clause of $100 million euros (approximately $103.6M dollars) sits on his head; it is clear that any club would have to have deep pockets to see him leave the Spanish club.

Key in Berhalter's midfield

Yunus Musah is expected to be one of the starting midfielders for the United States National Team, since together with Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams, he would help to create a potentially devastating trio in Berhalter’s side. Also, when facing teams like Wales and England, physicality is paramount, and Yunus has this quality in abundance.
