Zidane, Beckham’s unexpected guest at US Open Cup final to see Messi’s Inter Miami

Zinedine Zidane was the unexpected guest at the Inter Miami vs Houston Dynamo final in the US Open Cup final, which Messi didn’t play in.

While Inter Miami were waiting and hoping for Messi to be fit, right up to the start of the US Open Cup final match against Houston Dynamo, the DRV PNK Stadium had an unexpected guest. French coach Zinedine Zidane was present at the match, which Houston Dynamo won 2-1.

In a social media post from the US Open Cup, you can see how the winner of three Champions Leagues as a coach and two as a Real Madrid player arrived at the stadium to meet his former teammate David Beckham, now one of the owners of Inter Miami.

Galactic meeting at US Open Cup

Zidane and Beckham were part of that generation known as the 'galacticos' at Real Madrid, which coincided with Roberto Carlos, Iker Casillas, Luis Figo, Raúl González, among many others.

Despite this, the relationship between the two was a little complicated at the beginning, although on the field they understood each other perfectly. Zidane himself confessed that he struggled with his relationship with Beckham, because, “I don’t speak English and he doesn’t speak Spanish, it’s difficult.” However, as the years passed, the bond of friendship between the two became stronger.

“My favorite player I played with is Zidane, technically he was impressive. On the other hand, the most difficult player I faced is Roberto Carlos,” Beckham said a few months ago about the Frenchman.
