Zlatan Ibrahimovic predicts who is going to win the 2022 World Cup
The AC Milan striker believes that ‘it’s already written’ that Lionel Messi and Argentina will lift the trophy at Qatar.
Lionel Messi is participating in his fifth World Cup and is playing at the highest level at 35 years old with the Argentina national team. He has led the Albiceleste to the final in Qatar by scoring his fifth goal in six appearances and providing his third assist in the 3-0 win over Croatia at Lusail Stadium in the semifinals.
The outstanding form Messi is showing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup is being noticed by the entire planet, including AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury he suffered last season with the Serie A side and he said that Messi is destined to win his first World Cup and the third one for Argentina.
‘It’s already written’
“I think it’s already written who will win, and you know who I mean. I think Messi will lift the trophy, it’s already written,” said Ibrahimovic, who joined his teammates in Dubai for training camp.
The 41-year-old is expected to make his return for AC Milan in the second part of the Serie A season as he is close to reaching full fitness following surgery. Zlatan was also asked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s message after Portugal’s World Cup exit and his future at club level after parting ways with Manchester United last month.
“Everybody is trying and if you don’t win it obviously you’ll get emotional. If you win it, you also get emotional in a different way. He’s exiting United, I think when things happen, we will never know the true story. They say what they want to say, he says what he needs to say to protect himself, then you have the coach that says these things to protect himself,” added Ibrahimovic.
