Atlético Madrid fans create sensational atmosphere ahead of Barcelona showdown in Champions League

The Atlético Madrid fans were out in force to welcome their team to the stadium with a sensational show of support as they host Barcelona at the Metropolitano in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg, holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg.

Thousands of supporters lined the streets leading to the Metropolitano in the warm Madrid evening sun. Fans packed the pavements before kick-off, creating a wall of noise as the Atlético bus made its way through the crowd.

Hundreds of red and white flares lit up the route, while chants rang out in support of Diego Simeone and his players. The atmosphere was intense but peaceful, with supporters united in their backing as Atleti prepared to defend their advantage and take a step closer to the Champions League semi-finals.
