Body cams bring us new dimension in sports viewing
We’re accustomed to cameras all around the pitch, and often even the spider cam over players’ heads. But now we have another angle to consider.
Lukas Haraslin scored a very tidy goal in his side’s 3-1 friendly victory over FC Nuremberg on Saturday, January 21. While nice, it was hardly a goal that you’d expect to go viral on social media, especially given its lack of importance to any competition. But it did.
Why Haraslin’s strike went viral
The goal and the moments leading up to it were captured by a GoPro camera attached to the Sparta Prague winger, giving another dimension for viewers, something more akin to first-player video games.
