Doncic gets fan ejected, blasts ESPN reporter
Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic had enough of a fan’s heckling during the game against the Phoenix Suns and explained his reasoning after the game.
Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was being heckled by a Phoenix Suns fan during their 132-109 loss on Wednesday. The fan was screaming at him throughout the game, saying at one point, “You’re tired! Get on the treadmill!” He finally had enough and asked for the fan to be ejected in the second half.
Doncic received some backlash for that, and after the game, he explained that he didn’t like to eject fans, and that’s why he let it go on so long. But eventually, he had enough.
“He was cursing me the whole first half too, so it’s a bit of frustration,” said Doncic to ESPN reporter Tim McMahon, whom he said is always writing negative things about him. McMahon had written that the comment about the treadmill was the reason Doncic asked for the fan to be ejected.
“I saw you when you said about the fan. It was not true at all. It was not the only thing he said. But I knew you would be the first to point out something like that,” said Doncic.
“I’m not going to say what he said, but I knew you were going to be the first one to put out something like that. It’s just funny. You always seem to be the first one to put some bad stuff about me,.”
The exchange went back and forth for quite a while, but eventually McMahon agreed that the fan “was definitely hollering”.
