Update:

Kylian Mbappé missed training for Real Madrid on Sunday 12 April just hours before the club’s journey to Germany for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against FC Bayern Munich.

The player took a hit in the recent LaLiga game against Girona, with centre-back Vitor Reis elbowing the player in the face. While TV cameras failed to pick up the worst of the incident, photographs taken from the Bernabéu sidelines showed Mbappé bleeding heavily from his right eyebrow.

Mbappé himself also posted a photo of the injury, with a graphic image uploaded onto social media showing the huge cut just above his eye.

Despite the shocking nature of the injury, he is set to play against Bayern Munich and will not need a protective face mask for the game.
