Missile strikes caught on camera during live interview in Gaza

As Israel struck back after the Hamas attacks on their country, one air strike hit just behind a Gaza Strip correspondent in the middle of a live interview.

After the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, killing at least 200 people and taking several hostage, Israel struck back. They declared war with Hamas, launching airstrikes in Gaza, which have already killed around 200 people as well. The Gaza Strip is home to around two million people and depends on Israel for water, electricity, and communication, amongst other imports and utilities.

As one reporter, Youman El Sayed, was reporting live about the conflict, one of the Israeli airstrikes hit just behind her. The moment was caught on camera as you can see the building explode behind her. She screams and ducks for cover as her colleague tells her to take a moment to breathe and make sure she’s safe before reporting more. “We have just witnessed live what an Israeli raid looks like on a populated area of Gaza city, what we believe is a residential building,” he said.
