Ronaldo watches on as Al Nassr draw
Suspended Cristiano Ronaldo watched from the sidelines as Al Nassr scored four goals but couldn’t win over Al Hazm in a game that ended in a 4-4 draw.
Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo was suspended for one game after “provoking” fans during their game against Al-Shabab on Sunday. During Al Nassr’s 3-2 win, Ronaldo cupped his hand to his ear while the Al-Shabab fans cheered and then thrusted with his hand towards his groin towards the fans. All the while, the Al-Shabab fans were chanting rival Lionel Messi’s name. He explained himself, saying that in Europe the gesture is considered normal and not obscene and that it was only a celebration, not meant to offend the fans.
Even still, he received a one-game ban and had to watch on as his side faced Al Hazem on Thursday. Al Nassr was able to score four goals, but couldn’t get the win as the game ended in a 4-4 draw.
