VIDEO: Internet obsessing over the “NYC blanket couple”
A Tiktok went viral of a couple presumably engaging in sexual acts under a blanket in a park in NYC. The internet is already looking for their identities.
A video has gone completely viral after user @girlsorwomen posted it on TikTok. The video shows a couple moving around under a blanket in the middle of a sunny day in Battery Park in New York City. The caption of the video reads, “trying to enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon in NYC...”.

The video quickly went viral on social media with more than 40 million views in just two days. It left users shocked, assuming the couple is performing sexual acts under the blanket. In the video, you can see children playing just feet away from them with people all around them.
One user wrote on X, “They are having sex in the park IN FRONT OF CHILDREN like that is not okay”. Another echoed the sentiments, writing, “Ew, that NYC couple that had public sex under a blanket needs to be euthanized!!! Children were playing like 4 feet away from them??? IN A BUSY PUBLIC PARK!!”
Other users have noted that it’s possible that they were simply changing their clothes and that we can’t actually know what in fact they were doing under that blanket.
Just a day after the video went viral, another one came out that shows the couple coming out from under the blanket, leading the internet to start searching for the identities of the couple involved, who has come to be known as “the NYC blanket couple”.
