RUNNING OF THE BULLS

Video: Running of the bulls day seven | speedy with goring

Pamplona rises for the penultimate time in 2023, with bulls from a Madrid ranch getting involved in the San Fermín celebrations.

Another 8 o’clock start for the runners on Thursday morning as the bulls from the Victoriano del Río bull-ranch (Madrid) run the 875 metres through the streets of Pamplona until they reach the bullring. The penultimate run is the seventh day of the running of the bulls in northern Spain, as part of the San Fermín festival popularised in the English-speaking world by Ernest Hemingway in his book The Sun Also Rises.

Everything went to plan with a speedy run of 2 minutes and 18 seconds, which is just six seconds more than last year, almost as though the bulls knew the route perfectly. It was fairly ‘clean’ (as they say) with one person injured from a leg goring and four left with bruises.

If you ever make the trip, and decide to get onto the streets during the run, please don’t do this:
