An avid footballer (soccer player) from Barbados who's had the opportunity to live and play in four different countries, Paul joined Diario AS in 2021. Since then he's been covering everything from the major sports leagues of the U.S.A. (NFL, MLB, NHL, etc.) to Formula 1 and of course football (soccer). It's been educational, to say the least. As for origin stories, Paul was born in 1981 to a Trinidadian teacher/musician and a manager of the Caribbean's regional airline. That last part definitely had relevance because it meant that by the time Paul arrived on the scene, his siblings had already experienced living in a few countries, something Paul would go on to experience for himself. His childhood and teenage years revolved around sports as he would go on to represent his country in both football and field hockey, before finally departing for Amsterdam, Holland where he earned his degree in Communication Management while playing football at a semi-professional level. Since that time he's worked in Marketing & Advertising, traveled the Caribbean with an NGO dedicated to Leadership Management & Innovation, battled ex-patriots while selling luxury real estate, and most recently has become a representative for his country's tourism marketing agency. Today, Paul still plays football whenever he has the opportunity and continues to take advice from his parents who have been married for 52 years. Indeed, he would be the first to tell you that they are the central reference point for him in all that he does, says, and thinks.
