Will was born in Leeds, England in 1995 but moved to the Welsh countryside before his first birthday. In this rural setting football soon became his one true passion and he developed an affinity with local team Shrewsbury Town, experiencing the full range of emotions that sport has to offer. At the age of 18 Will moved to Merseyside to study history at the University of Liverpool, going on to complete a master’s in media and communications. After graduating he covered football stories on a freelance basis for a series of magazines, newspapers and websites. In early March 2020 Will joined AS USA as a football correspondent. In late March 2020 a global pandemic brought about an unprecedented halt of professional sport and the role pivoted to a broader focus. Later that year he took up a position in the newly-formed Latest News team. After two years away Will moved back to the football department in early 2023. Now reunited with his true passion, his writing focuses on the Premier League, LaLiga, MLS, Liga MX and the global game.
