A 'póker' they call it in Spain: when you score 4 goals in the same game. Not everyone's done it - Zidane never managed it - but Ronaldo did against Celta, and in some style: the first a golazo from 30 yards, the second a screamer of a free-kick, the third a tap-in and the fourth an unstoppable header from a corner.

When he's on form Ronaldo can be terrifying and his performance sent tremors through the international press.

A number of papers ran with "Super Ronaldo" highlighting his pole position in the race for the Golden Boot/Shoe - the one you win when you're the top scorer in all of Europe:

"Ronaldo leaves Jonas in his wake in race for Boto de Oro". In Italy they looked on with a mixture of fear and awe: "Cristiano's warning shot to Roma" anguished Corriere dello Sport.

Record: "Los Merengues ride the wave that Cristiano created". "Super Ronaldo takes the lead in the race for the Golden Shoe".

O'Jogo: "Three in one: pichichi, golden shoe and 253 goals". "Unstoppable afternoon for Cristiano. The Portuguese got his póker and is still chasing yet more personal records".

Bild: "Cristiano, gigantic, Real Madrid at gale force".

Corriere dello Sport: "Cristiano's warning shot for Roma". "The blanco show in the Bernabéu ends in a póker for Cristiano".

Gazzetta: "Loco Cristiano". "Real Madrid are scary, 'Super Ronaldo' even more so".

Daily Mail: "Cristiano Ronaldo steals the show with four second-half goals."

Mirror: "Cristiano Ronaldo hits four in Bernabeu rout". "Despite being whistled by some of the home fans Ronaldo scored four times to take his tally to 27 for the season and surpass Luis Suarez as La Liga’s top scorer".

L'Equipe: "Real Madrid and Cristiano in fiesta form". "The Portuguese, unplayable, notched up four more goals. Obviously, with that class of contribution, he doesn't care about modesty. He was criticised by some for his comments after the Atlético game and then this Saturday he scored four goals, proving that he is head and shoulders above the rest".

Olé: "I don't listen, I just get on with it". "Cristiano Ronaldo silenced the whistles at the Bernabéu with four goals and an outstanding performance".
