Football loses another legend as Cesare Maldini passes away

The former Milan player who also spent time as Italian national team coach passed away at the age of 84.

Cesare Maldini, former AC Milan legend has died at the age of 84 and the news was communicated via a family statement.

"With great sadness we announce the death of Cesare who left us late last night". The communique was picked up by Italian media outlet ANSA.

Cesare Maldini was born on February 5, 1932. He made his footballing debut with Triestina and went on to establish himself as a legend with AC Milan winning one European Cup and four Italian league titles.

Cesare, the father of Paolo Maldini started his coaching career at Foggia in 1971. He also oversaw Tertana, Parma y Milán along with being national team coach of Italy and Paraguay.
