The global press corps singled out Gareth Bale's performance as the highlight in Real Madrid's passage to the final after beating Manchester City 1-0 last night. The player from Cardiff scored the winning goal but Uefa later adjudged the strike as an own goal from City player Fernando after the ball was deflected past Hart in the City net.
