Euro 2016 violence spreads to Nice

The violence at Euro 2016, concentrated up to now in Marseille, between England and Russian supporters (with some local French ultras thrown into the mix), has spread to Nice. There were clashes on the streets, as can be seen in the video.

Initial reports were confused with some suggesting the battles were between Northern Ireland and Poland fans, however police confirmed later that the trouble had been started by local hooligans who had attacked the football fans, who had been mingling with no problems prior to the incident. A small group of Northern Ireland fans retaliated.

Poland - Northern Ireland: Sunday at 6pm

The violence took place on Saturday evening, with Poland playing Northern Ireland at 6pm on Sunday in Group C of Euro 2016.

According to the BBC's Mark Simpson, after order had been restored the Northern Ireland and Poland fans went back to partying alongside each other.
