Ibrahimovic to retire from international football after Euros
Sweden's match against Belgium could be the 34-year old's last for his country. Sweden will need a win to see that his 115 cap, 62 goal career lasts for at least a few days longer.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he is to retire from international football after Euro 2016, meaning Sweden’s game against Belgium on Wednesday could be the last ever for his country.
115 caps, 62 goals
“My last game of this Euros will be my final one. I’m not going to the Olympics,” the 34-year old told a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. Sweden will need to take all three points against the Belgians to see that Ibrahimovic’s international career is prolonged for at least another few days. He’ll add at least one more appearance to his 115 caps on Wednesday, and would love to sign off by adding to his 62 goals.
Old Trafford bound?
Although France will be the last chance to see Zlatan strut his stuff in the yellow shirt of his home nation, the star striker has yet to reveal where he’ll continue his club career after leaving PSG at the end of the season. Old Trafford seems to be his likeliest destination.
