John Stones to Inter Milan? Expected salary and contract length
The England defender left Manchester City at the end of his contract and has had interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Inter Milan are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign England defender John Stones after the expiration of his Manchester City contract.
The BBC reports that Inter are leading the race for Stones’ signature, facing opposition from the likes of Chelsea and Juventus. Stones, now 32, has struggled with injuries in recent years but boasts a top-level record that few can match.
Stones signed for Manchester City from Everton in 2016 for £47.5m. Ove the past decade he was helped City to six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups and the Champions League.
John Stones contract details and salary
Even at his advanced age, Stones will command a significant salary. As a free agent teams will not need to pay a transfer fee, leaving more money to put towards his wage demands.
GOAL reports that Inter have agreed a deal worth €4 million net per season. The deal is though to be a two-year contract, with no option for a third.
Stones could reunite with former Manchester City teammate Manuel Akanji, who signed for Inter on a permanent deal this summer.
