Álvaro Medrán bid farewell to the club which. for the past five seasons, has been "his home" with an open letter as he embarks on a new stage in his career with Pako Ayesterán's Valencia. "This club allowed me to experiences moments I could only dream about - being coached by Zinedine Zidane, Carlo Ancelotti, Fernando Hierro or taking part in training sessions with Casillas, Arbeloa, Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo and a long list of legends of this sport".
"Hello everyone!
Even though I am now officially a Valencia C.F. player, I felt it was only right to say goodbye to the place which was my home for five magnificent years.
I arrived at this club as a boy and I am leaving as a person prepared in football and values. I would like to thank every person who has contributed their grain of sand in helping me during that period.
From the people who first showed faith in me and brought me to the club, all of the coaches who have shaped by game and my character out on the pitch, to all of the people who taken care of me on a day to day basis, with special mention to the physios and doctors who have always treated the knocks and pains I've suffered and who twice worked with me to see me through and recover from serious injuries. Bernardo, Carlos, Jaime and all of the other medical staff - people who are not well-known to the general public but for for us, and me in particular, do a job of vital importance - without them, we would not be able to give the best of ourselves.
I'd like to give huge thanks to all of my team mates, from the Under-18s to the first team, because all of them have taught me things and helped me in the dat-to-day, in the good times and the bad. This club allowed me to experiences moments I could only dream about - being coached by Zinedine Zidane, Carlo Ancelotti, Fernando Hierro or taking part in training sessions with Casillas, Arbeloa, Sergio Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo and a long list of legends of this sport. Also, this club has enabled me to get to know many different parts of the world, discover new friends and colleagues.
For all of that and so much more, I will be eternally grateful. And to end, I would like to thank the fans who have supported me and had confidence in me day after day, season after season.
I'd like to bid farewell to each and every one of you with a big hug and great affection.
Álvaro Medrán"
