England Under-19 midfielder dies

Tributes have poured in for 18 year old England Under-19 women's footballer Zoe Tynan, who died on Tuesday.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Tynan died after being hit by a train at West Allerton station in Merseyside. British Transport Police said an 18-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. They are not treating the death as suspicious.

Zoe Tynan had recently signed for Fylde Ladies AFC

Tynan started her career when she was six years old, playing with Liverpool Feds. She then moved to Everton's Centre of Excellence, where she spent six years. In 2015 she signed for Manchester United, where she made her first-team debut in April. Tynan had recently signed for Fylde Ladies AFC.

Tynan had represented her country at Under-15 and Under-17 level and was currently part of the Under-19 set-up, and was in manager Mo Marley’s squad at a training camp at St George’s Park earlier this month.

Tributes pour in for popular player

"Zoe has been involved in our squads for a number of years and was a hugely-liked and popular member of the team," Under-19 coach Mo Marley said.

"We want to remember Zoe in the best possible way: a hugely talented player and an immensely likable character," Fylde manager Luke Swindlehurst said.
