Zidane hails Ronaldo's return: "He's got that special touch"
The Real Madrid coach also heaped praise on Luka Modric, who received a stranding ovation from the Bernabéu crowd: "He deserved it".
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane spoke to the media following his side's 5-2 win over Osasuna.
Modric ovation:
“I know what a player he is. I’m not just happy with the game today, but the work that he’s been doing for some time. It’s deserved. He’s a lovely guy.”
Benzema’s cameo:
“I thought he did well, playing behind Morata. He had rhythm. I’m happy with what he did. On Wednesday (against Sporting) he’ll be ready to play. Morata played 90 minutes too, I’m happy to see him play in a different position. When he touches the ball things always happen.”
Ronaldo’s substitution:
“I didn’t discuss anything with him. I simply enjoyed seeing him out there on the pitch. I always want him with me. Let’s see on Wednesday how much he’ll play. We’ve got seven games in 21 days coming up.”
Ronaldo’s performance
“I hope the scores a lot of goals. He’s beating all the records one buy one and I’m sure he’ll get to 100 (Champions League) goals. He’s got that special touch on the big occasions. He always creates danger and it’s good he got his early goal.”
