Legia hope Cristiano "has run out of ammo" before they meet
The Polish club, who visit the Bernabéu in the Champions League on Tuesday and have started to stoke the atmosphere with a light-hearted tweet...
Red letter days
Almost as soon as the Champions League group stage draw was made, Legia Warszawa fans circled two dates on their calendars: 18th October and 2nd November, the two dates when the team faces Real Madrid. The Poles are already thinking about the first of those meetings, next Tuesday's clash at the Santiago Bernabéu. On Legia's English Twitter account, the Polish outfit sent a message to Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portugal ace's goal against the Faroe Islands, following on from the four he hit three days earlier against Andorra. "Hey Cristiano, congratulations on scoring another goal! Hope you're now out of ammo for Legia next week", the Polish club joked.
Get well soon
Legia also sent a message of support to Luka Modric, Casemiro and Sergio Ramos, who will miss next week's game through injury. The Croatian midfielder is recovering from a knee operation, the Brazilian has a shin bone injury and the captain suffered a sprain to his left knee whilst on duty with Spain. "We wish you a speedy recovery", Legia wrote on their social media sites - to which one fans replied: "Surely you are happy that they are unavailable to play?", and the club fired back: "No. when you play the Champions League, you want to play against the best players!"
