Sevilla won away from home in La Liga for the first time in 23 games, sealing three points with a 3-2 victory at Leganés which sees them leapfrog Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid to go top of the table.

A worthy winner

Pablo Sarabia's stunning winner five minutes from time moved Sevilla two points clear at the top despite blowing a 2-0 lead early in the second-half. Atlético and Real can move back to the top of the table when they face Granada and Real Betis, respectively, later on Saturday.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Barcelona can move to within a point of Sevilla with victory at home to Deportivo la Coruña. Despite continuing to shine in Europe by completing a hat-trick of Europa League titles last season, Sevilla hadn't won away in the league since the final day of the 2014/15 season, when they beat Málaga.

Almost the same old story

Franco Vazquez's opener and a second from the impressive Samir Nasri just before the hour mark put Jorge Sampaoli's men well on course to ending that barren run. However, their defensive frailties looked set to cost them victory once more as Leganes struck back with two goals in three minutes through David Timor and Alexander Szymanowski.

Sarabia proved the match winner off the bench when he curled home from outside the area his third goal in just seven La Liga games since joining from Getafe.
