Legia Warsaw coach Jaciek Magiera admitted this afternoon that his team is really going to be affected by not having support from the stands when they face Real Madrid in tomorrow's Matchday 4 meeting. The polish outfit has been served a stadium ban by UEFA as punishment for the behaviour of some of team¡s radical fans.
Tough to take
"UEFA's decision has been difficult for us to take but we accept it", Magiera told reporters today, adding that he feels "ashamed" at the fans' comportment, "something which you never want to see" and vowed that the club will be doing everything in its power to ensure such violent scenes don't happen again.
Soulless
"Playing without spectators in the stands is like playing in stadium without soul", he continued, "We count on our supporters as our 12th man. [Apart from the radical element] we have great fans who really motivate the team and deserve to be known for the great supporters they are throughout Europe. I hope that in years to come Real Madrid can find out for themselves, when our stadium reopens, with the stands packed and our fans signing".
