Raúl's son, crowned champion of New York schools league
Fordham Prep, the team in which Jorge González plays, beat Regis in the penalty shoot-out. It's the second trophy which Raúl's son has won.
Raúl González's son, Jorge González Redondo, was crowned champion of New York's college league with his school team, Fordham Prep. The teenager was part of the team which beat Regis High on Sunday, although the game ended in a goalless draw and was settled in a penalty shoot-out. Jorge, who is just 16 years old, is one of the most promising talents in New York's schools league, and is one of the stars in his team, Fordham, with whom he has now won his second league title.
Late winner
Jorge played a key role for the team a few days ago when his injury-time winner against Archbishop Malloy High put the team into the final. As a player, he bears many similarities to his father - Jorge is an out-and-out striker with a keen eye for goal. In the quarter finals he scored a hat trick in the 4-1 win against Christ the King.
