EVERTON

Koeman questioned over Christmas tree colours

The Dutch manager took over Everton last summer and was questioned over his allegiance when he posted a picture of his Christmas tree with Southampton's red and white to Twitter.

Ronald Koeman's Christmas Tree

Everton-Liverpool Live

It's the most wonderful time of the year, eh? Not so much for Ronald Koeman, who posted a picture of his beautiful red and white Christmas tree to Twitter before having to redecorate the whole thing into a more 'neutral' colour, or so it seemed.

The current Everton manager took over after two years at Southampton and while he did have a red and white tree, along with a white one, why he didn't add a little sprinkle of blue to the tree to really get the blue half of Everton on their feet.

Koeman - The voice of reason

To be fair to Koeman, who appears to be a pillar of calm and control, was quick to remind his Twitter followers and the people questioning his allegiance of the seriousness of his "crime".

It was also a joke, and Koeman actually has two trees in his house. But kudos on his "twitter banter".

Christmas cheer needed

Regardless of the colour he has decorated his tree, Koeman could do with giving the Everton fans some Christmas cheer. His side are winless in three and that includes a 5-0 dismantling by Chelsea and a measly 1-1 draw with Swansea. They play Manchester United on Sunday in the late game at 17:00 (CET) and will be hoping his players give him an early Christmas present.
