Fan fined for hurling burger at police horse at City game

A fan was fined 105 euros on Wednesday for drunken behaviour and throwing a hamburger at a police horse during Manchester City’s meeting with Celtic.

The supporter was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and spent Tuesday night in police cells after the incident in the centre of Manchester, a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman said.

“Man arrested Drunk & Disorderly throwing hamburger at police horse on @ManCity v @celticfc got £90 fine. Horse remains in stable condition,' GMP tweeted. “Man was released this morning with a £90 fine.'

Earlier they tweeted: “Police horse 'Lancaster' is in a stable position after burger thrown at it by Celtic fan!”

A total of 14 people were arrested as a result of incidents around the match as City and Celtic drew 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
