Following Bayern Munich's win over Leipzig on Wednesday night, Carlo Ancelotti warned that Arturo Vidal could be dropped if he doesn’t improve his performances.

“Vidal didn’t play well...he knows it"

“[Joshua] Kimmich is an option in Arturo’s position,” said Ancelotti. “Vidal didn’t play well in Darmstadt, he knows it. He’s an important player due to his character. I hope he’s able to play better in our next games.”

“I try to do the best possible"

That, unsurprisingly, grabbed the attention of the Chilean midfielder, who responded well to Ancelotti’s comments. “It’s fine that they criticise me when I play badly…they haven’t criticised me at all year,” he said. “I try to do the best possible. It’s not a problem, Ancelotti is the number one and with him we can win the Champions League.”

"An almost perfect year"

King Arturo, as they call him in Chile, added that he’s looking forward to the winter break after an intense year. “From January onward games are coming that I’m looking ford to. I’m not going to Chile [over Christmas], I need to rest. I have 15 days to recuperate well. It’s been an almost perfect year, with four titles. Only the Champions League is missing and we want it this season.”
