Talking to Real Madrid TV after the club opened their training ground doors to fans on Friday morning, Cristiano Ronaldo reflected on an “unforgettable” year and wished for more of the same in 2017.

"Cristiano not for sale"

“It’s been a dream year, as much in Real Madrid as with the national side,” he said following the open session where fans chanted “Cristiano not for sale” in light of the news of a €300m offer made from China for the star – a proposal that agent Jorge Mendes says Ronaldo rejected.

"I'm really content"

“[It’s been] an unforgettable year on a personal and collective level. I’m really content. I hope 2017 is the same and full of titles and happiness.”

Goalkeeper Kelyor Navas meanwhile called on his teammates to “continue working hard” in the new year and that the squad is “looking forward to the games coming up” in the next few weeks.

"Thank god we won those titles," the Costa Rican reflected on a successful 2016 in which Madrid won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup. "They are beautiful memories that will stay will us always and form part of our careers and the history of the club. We'll have to keep working hard to win more trophies."
