Ramos: Real Madrid captain to miss Copa first leg with Sevilla
Sergio Ramos continues to be dogged by a muscle injury suffered against Deportivo last month, and is to play no part on Wednesday.Real Madrid-Sevilla live: LaLiga
Sergio Ramos is to miss Real Madrid's Copa del Rey clash with Sevilla on Wednesday after suffering a relapse of an injury picked up in December.
Still struggling with muscle injury from December
Ramos sat out Real's Club World Cup semi-final against Club América two weeks ago after ending his team's LaLiga win over Deportivo La Coruña with a muscle problem.
He was able to return to Madrid's line-up for the final against Kashima Antlers, but is back on the sidelines after seeing the issue in his right leg flare up again.
Ramos suspended for weekend league match
Real will therefore be without their captain until the return leg with Sevilla on 12 January, as he is banned for Saturday's league game at home to Granada.
Zidane also goes into this week's Copa encounter with last season's runners-up missing the injured trio of Lucas Vázquez, Mateo Kovacic and Gareth Bale.
