Extremadura to donate half of gate to cash-strapped Recre
The struggling Segunda B side have expressed their thanks for the show of solidarity from next weekend's opposition, who are also in the relegation zone.

Segunda B side Extremadura UD are to donate half of the gate receipts from this weekend’s game against Recreativo at the Francisco de la Hera to their opponents, whose financial situation is so precarious that there were real concerns before the 2016-17 campaign that Spain’s oldest football club would face administrative relegation to Tercera and in all likelihood a winding up order.
Recre fans planning to travel en masse
As it is Recre are in the relegation zone in Segunda B Group 4, along with Extremadura, who received words of thanks from Recre for their gesture. A number of Recre fans were planning to make the trip and now it is anticipated that turn-out will be significant at the 11.500-seater stadium on Sunday.
