We're willing to negotiate for Aubameyang, says Dortmund CEO

Hans Joschim Watzke told Kicker TV that Borussia Dortmund would sit down and talk in the case of an €80m offer for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, but also admitted it would depend on who made the offer.

Borussia Dortmund's managing director Hans Joschim Watzke has declared that the German club would begin negotiations for their sought-after striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang if offered €80 million, though added it would depend on where the offer came from.

Watzke, however, also expressed his confidence that the player will continue at Dortmund, despite heavy interest from Real Madrid.

"He feels good with us"

"He has bought a house in Dortmund, which could be a sign. He feels good with us," Watzke told Kicker TV, highlighting that Aubameyang still has a contract until 2020 and that Dortmund are not under any pressure to sell.

"I read this week with pleasure that he would not go to Bayern [Munich]," added Watzke following Aubameyang’s pledge never to sign for Dortmund’s sworn Bundesliga enemy.

Asked whether the club would consider an offer of €80 million, Watzke said it would depend on who is asking.

"It's one thing if the offer comes from China or Kyrgyzstan or if it comes from another club," he said. "In any case, if a team like Barcelona came we would sit down and talk, but it wouldn’t be cheap."
