Across the U.S., certain Social Security beneficiaries are to receive their latest monthly money today, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) continues its three-Wednesdays payment cycle for July 2026.
Who gets Social Security today, Wednesday, July 15?
Of the 71.3 million recipients of Social Security nationwide, many are paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in each month, depending on their birthday.
Today is this month’s third Wednesday, so Social Security benefits are due to be issued to recipients born from the 11th to 20th of any month.
The complete three-Wednesdays schedule for July 2026 is:
- Born on 1st-10th of any month: Wednesday, July 8
- Born on 11th-20th of any month: Wednesday, July 15
- Born on 21st-31st of any month: Wednesday, July 22
NB: If you claim Social Security based on someone else’s employment history, the SSA uses the other person’s date of birth.
What other Social Security payment runs does July have?
- July 2: Benefits paid to certain long-term recipients
Social Security beneficiaries who began receiving their payments before May 1997 were sent July’s money on Thursday 2, regardless of their date of birth.
- July 2: Benefits paid to recipients who also get SSI
July 2 was also this month’s Social Security payment date for recipients who combine the program with Supplemental Security Income (SSI), a benefit for certain low-income, low-resource individuals. July’s SSI was paid out on Wednesday 1.
Social Security is usually issued to the above long-term and dual recipients on the third day of each month, but payment was brought forward because July 3 was a federal holiday.

Social Security recipients can supply the SSA with their bank-account information using the agency’s online my Social Security tool.

Benefits can be paid onto the Direct Express Card, a special debit card for receiving federal disbursements. Sign up for Direct Express at 1-800-333-1795 or 1-800-772-1213, or at a Social Security office.
