Las Palmas to announce Jesé Rodríguez loan deal from PSG
Negotiations on the deal were concluded on Sunday night and the player is expected to be unveiled on Monday on a six-month loan deal.
Jesé Rodríguez’s protracted loan move to Las Palmas is expected to be officially announced on Monday, club sources consulted by AS have confirmed.
Negotiations between Las Palmas and Paris Saint-Germain have been ongoing throughout the month of January with the player’s salary being the main stumbling block to a deal being concluded.
Jesé turned down Boro
Interest from Premier League club Middlesbrough and Serie A sides Roma and Milan also threw a spanner in the works but it seems that finally the Liga club have landed their primary target for the winter window on loan until the end of the season.
Jesé moved to the Parc des Princes from Real Madrid for a fee of 25 million euros last summer after finding his playing time restricted at the Bernabéu but failed to adapt to his new surroundings. An appendicitis operation shortly after joining PSG did not aid his settling in and he failed to convince Unai Emery and club owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his ability to fit into the side during his six-month spell in Paris.
Little-used in Paris
In all, Jesé featured in just 14 games, playing 17 minutes in the Champions League, 262 in Ligue 1 and the full 90 in a Coupe de la Ligue match, scoring just two goals for the side.
The sale of striker Sergio Araujo to AEK Athens freed up a place Quique Setién’s squad and some funds and Jesé was reportedly scheduled to arrive in Las Palmas on Monday with an official announcement from the club anticipated later in the day.
