Barcelona midfielder Rafinha suffered a nasty gash to the face against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday afternoon at Camp Nou.
The Brazilian was accidentally booted in the head by his own goalkeeper, Ter Stegen, just before the 50 minute mark, causing the player to bleed profusely from the forehead.
Gruesome injury
Play was stopped for a number of minutes while he received treatment before being walked off by medics to be tended to further. Rakitic was then brought on his place.
Despite the gruesome looking injury, Rafinha didn’t appear to be seriously injured and was seen walking to the changing room with a big white bandage wrapped around his head.
