Georgios Samaras: striker set to complete Real Zaragoza move
Samaras, a free agent since Rayo OKC went bust, is set to arrive in Spain on Monday to have a medical with the Segunda División team.
Former Manchester City and Celtic striker Georgios Samaras is on the brink of completing a move to Spanish Segunda División club Real Zaragoza.
To sign on until end of 2016/17 campaign
Samaras, who has been a free agent since North American Soccer League outfit Rayo OKC went out of business in January, is set to join until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old is expected to arrive in the city for a medical on Monday, having agreed to sign for Los Maños despite late interest from NASL side New York Cosmos.
The ex-Greece international, who has also had spells at Heerenveen, West Brom and Al-Hilal, is then scheduled to be unveiled at La Romareda on Tuesday.
Zaragoza out to end four-year Primera División absence
Zaragoza, who last played in Spain's top flight in the 2012/13 season, currently sit 12th in the second tier, four points off the promotion play-off places.
