"There is still plenty of time ahead of the summer. Afterwards, we will see what the club wants to do with me”. This recent comment from Agüero has created plenty of doubt surrounding his future at Manchester City with speculation growing that the striker is destined for a return to LaLiga.
The former Atletico forward is currently out of favour with Pep Guardiola and struggling to adapt to the Catalan coach's style of high pressing that new arrival Gabriel Jesús seems to have picked up in less than a month. El 'Kun' has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu in the past and a departure for the Argentine would see City enter the market for another striker with the name of Borussia Dortmund's, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the top of the Mancunian side's wish-list according to reports in the UK media.
The Gabonese striker is much coveted by many suitors in Europe with ongoing interest from Real Madrid. The 27 year old has bagged 21 goals this season alone in 22 Bundesliga and Champions League games and is out of contract with the German club in 2020.
An Agüero move to Madrid could see the LaLiga giants off-load Benzema (with Arsenal interested) or Alvaro Morata (with Chelsea the likely destination for the 24 year old forward).
